		<p> I am Professor of Communications and Director of the Telecommunications & New Technologies Laboratory in the Department of Informatics, Computer & Telecommunications Engineering of the International Hellenic University, Greece. I hold an MEng degree by distinction in Electrical & Computer Engineering [1988] from the Polytechnic School of the 
			<a target="_blank" href="http://www.upatras.gr/"> University of Patras</a> Greece, and a Doctorate in Radio Communications [1993] from the <a target="_blank" href="http://www.brad.ac.uk/"> University of Bradford</a>,  UK.
			I have served at various administrative positions, as Head of Department (2013-2017), Director of the Serres Centre of Applied Research (2013-2016) and Dean of the School of Engineering (2017-2019).
			I have been an <a target="_blank" href="http://www.itu.int/"> International Telecommunications Union (ITU)</a> international expert on radio spectrum management and monitoring and has contributed to Seminars and Workshops organized by the
			ITU (2003-2007) aimed at delivering expert knowledge and training to telecommunications regulatory institutions. I have thirty five years of professional and academic experience in the field of Communications and have authored more than two hundred technical reports, 
			textbooks, studies, journal articles and conference papers. In my current research interests included are, optical and wireless communication systems and radio propagation, electromagnetic interference and emissions, planning and deployment of new digital TV and radio 
			services and the economic and technical analysis of new technologies.
			Between 2000 – 2002, I was with the Greek <a target="_blank" href="http://www.eett.gr/"> National Telecommunications &amp; Post Commission</a> initially as an expert in Satellite Communications (2000) and later as Director of Radio Spectrum Management and Monitoring(2001-2002). I was responsible for Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) 
			and 3G Mobile Telephony licensing in Greece and for drafting the spectrum plan for the Athens 2004 Olympic Games. During my term of service the National Integrated Spectrum Management and Radio Monitoring System was procured.
			From 1995 – 2000 I was a Lecturer in the School of Physics, Engineering and Technology of <a target="_blank" href="http://www.york.ac.uk/"> University of York</a>, UK.
			During this period I taught several courses in the field of Communications, Electromagnetics and Radio Spectrum Management at undergraduate and postgraduate level. I also managed several research and industrial projects funded by
			<a target="_blank" href="http://www.baesystems.com/">British  Aerospace</a>,  <a target="_blank" href="http://www.esa.int/"> European Space Agency</a>,  <a target="_blank" href="http://www.rl.ac.uk/"> Rutherford Apletton Laboratories</a> and <a target="_blank" href="http://www.epsrc.ac.uk/"> EPSRC</a>
			related to the development and utilization of new radio communication systems and applications. I also offered consultancy services to <a target="_blank" href="https://www.ofcom.org.uk/about-ofcom/"> OfCom</a> on radio spectrum management and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) issues.
			From 1988-1995 I worked as a Research Assistant for the <a target="_blank" href="http://www.med.upatras.gr/"> University Hospital of Patras</a> (1988-1989 in electronic communications and database design & administration), the <a target="_blank" href="http://www.esa.int/"> European Space Agency</a> (1990-1992 in radiowave propagation and satellite communications), the <a target="_blank" href="http://www.bt.co.uk/"> British Telecom</a> (1992-1993 on broadband fixed wireless communications), 
			<a target="_blank" href="http://www.rl.ac.uk/"> Rutherford Apletton Laboratories</a> (in radar space applications and DSP) and as a Research Fellow for the <a target="_blank" href="http://www.york.ac.uk/"> University of York</a>  (1994-1995 in radar design, radiowave propagation, spectrum management and High-Altitude Platforms).
			In my spare time I enjoy sailing, photography, traveling and playing the piano.

	<h3>Dr. HRISTOS ANASTASSIU</h3>

		<p>Hristos T. Anastassiu was born in Edessa, Greece on July 11, 1966. He received his basic education in Thessaloniki (Elementary School: 1972-1978, Secondary School: 1978-1981, High School: 1981-1984). After scoring excellent grades in the Panhellenic Examinations, he enrolled in the Department of Electrical Engineering of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 1984. During his undergraduate studies he was consistently within the top 2% of his class, being honored by the National Fellowship for excellence in each academic year.  He completed a Diploma Thesis, supervised by Prof. Epaminondas. E. Kriezis and graduated in 1989 with Grade Point Average 9/10, third in his 120-student class, having been awarded twice the prize of the Technical Chamber of Greece.</p><p>In 1989 he enrolled in the Department of Electrical Engineering of the Ohio State University, Columbus, OH, USA, where he started his graduate studies as a Graduate Research Assistant at the ElectroScience Laboratory. His Major was Electromagnetics and his Minor was Communications.  He obtained the Master of Science degree, (M.Sc.) in 1992, after completing a thesis supervised by Prof. Prabhakar H. Pathak.</p><p>In 1992 he enrolled in the Department of Electrical Engineering of the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI, USA, again as a  Graduate Research Assistant at the Radiation Laboratory, with the same Major and Minor (Electromagnetics and Communications respectively). He obtained his Doctor of Philosophy degree (Ph.D.) in 1997, after completing a dissertation supervised by Prof.  John L. Volakis.</p><p>At the University of Michigan he was simultaneously registered in the Mathematics Department, where he obtained a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in 1995.</p><p>He received the second place award at the student paper contest of the 1993 IEEE-AP (Antennas and Propagation) International Symposium held in Ann Arbor, MI.</p><p>In May 1997 he enlisted in the Hellenic Army, at the Artillery Training Center, Theba, Greece. He was transferred to the 193th Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) Batallion at Eleftheroupolis, Greece. He completed his military service in May 1998.</p><p>From February 1999 to March 2002 he was a Junior Research Scientist at the Institute of Communications and Computer Systems (ICCS) of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), Greece. He was promoted to a Senior Research Scientist in 2002, a position he held until May 2004. From June 2004 to March 2011 he was affiliated with the Hellenic Aerospace Industry (HAI), Electronics Engineering Directorate. In September 2005 he was also elected as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Hellenic Air Force Academy, where he taught Electromagnetics and Communications courses until 2010, in parallel with his work at HAI. 			Stelios Tsitsos was born in Karyotissa, Pellas, Greece. He was awarded the B.Eng Degree in
Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Democritus University of Thrace, Greece, in
1989, the M.Sc Degree in Telecommunications and Digital Electronics from the University of
Manchester Institute of Science and Technology, (UMIST), U.K., in 1991, and the Ph.D
Degree in Microwave Telecommunications Engineering from UMIST, U.K., in 1994.
From Oct. 1996 to Mar. 1999, he worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at UMIST,
where he conducted research on microwave mobile communication filters for TDK
Corporation, Japan. The research findings were applied to the development of industrial
electronic devices produced by TDK Corporation, Japan.
From Jul. 1999 to Apr. 2002, he worked as a Senior Telecommunications Engineer for the
Greek Telecommunications Organisation.
Since 2002 he has been working as a Lecturer, Senior lecturer, Reader, and Professor in the
Department of Information, Computer, and Telecommunications Engineering in the
International Hellenic University (IHU), Serres, Greece.
He has participated in several research projects either as a Principal Investigator, co-
Investigator, or Researcher. He is the author and co-author of several research papers in
reputed international journals and conferences. Additionally, he is the author of 10
confidential technical reports submitted to TDK Corporation, Japan, and a reviewer in
several reputed international journals. His research interests include the design of passive
and active microwave components and sub-systems for various technologies (Wi-Fi,
Bluetooth, 4G, 5G, radars, etc.).
Prof. Tsitsos is a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece, the Institute of Electrical and
Electronics Engineers (IEEE, USA), the Applied Computational Electromagnetic Society
(ACES, USA) and the Automated RF and Microwave Measurements Society (ARMMS, UK).

	<h3>Dr. Constantinos Hilas</h3>

Constantinos S. Hillas (aka Konstantinos S. Cheilas, due to the official ELOT transliteration) was born in Thessaloniki, Greece, in 1967. He received the B.Sc. degree in Physics, in 1989, and the M.Sc. degree in Electronic Physics – Radioelectrology, in 1996, both from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), Thessaloniki, Greece, and, in 2000, the M.Sc. degree in Information Systems from the University of Macedonia (UM), Thessaloniki, Greece.

He has completed his PhD degree in Telecommunications at the Department of Physics, AUTH, under the supervision of Professor John Sahalos. The thesis explored the use of appropriate user profiling in telecommunications and networking in order to detect fraudulent activity in telecom networks. His basic research interests expand this work and also entail the study of network security issues, user characterization and data mining techniques in telecommunications.

From 1993 to 1996 he worked as Computer Administrator in Rector's Office, Aristotle University, while from 1996 to 2002, he was the Administrator of the Telecommunications Network of AUTH. During his postgraduate studies, he was a Teaching Assistant in the Department of Physics, AUTH, as well as in the Postgraduate Program of UM. He has given many seminars and lessons and has specialized in distance learning methods. In 2002, he was elected Lecturer at the Department of Informatics and Communications, Technological Educational Institute of Serres, Greece. He received tenure in 2004, was promoted to Assistant Professor in November 2007, to Associate Professor in October 2013 and to Professor in October 2018. Dr. Hilas is the author or co-author of several research articles on user modeling and fraud detection in telecommunications, networking services, signal processing and the application of artificial intelligence techniques on telecommunications related problems ( Google Scholar Author Profile ).

Dr. Hilas has been a scholar of the Greek State Scholarships Foundation and the UM. He is a Senior Member of the IEEE, Silver Member of ISACA, and member of FITCE, the Hellenic Society of Physicists and the Greek Computer Society.

			Dimitrios Efstathiou received his degree in Electrical Engineering from the Department of Electrical Engineering of the University of Patras in 1989. He received his master's degree in "Digital Electronics” in 1991 and a PhD in “Digital Communication Systems” in 1996 from the Electrical Engineering Department of King's College, University of London, Great Britain.
			He has more than twenty-five years of industrial and academic experience in the field of Telecommunication Systems. He worked as a Telecommunication Systems Design Engineer at NOKIA MOBILE PHONES Ltd. in Camberley, Great Britain (Camberley, Surrey UK) from March 1995 to October 1996. During this period he worked in the research group of NOKIA (New Systems Technology Group). In November 1996 he moved to the USA to take up the position of Telecommunication Systems Design Engineer at ANALOG DEVICES Inc. in Greensboro, North Carolina, USA. From November 1996 to June 1997 he was engaged in research and design of DVB (Direct Video Broadcasting) satellite television transmission and reception systems. From July 1997 to July 2003 he was involved in research and design of digital up/down converters for Intermediate Frequency systems for 2G and 3G wireless mobile base station transceivers. In July 2003 he assumed the position of Chief Engineer of Telecommunication Systems Design. He was a program manager in the design of the integrated circuit for a 3G mobile base station transmitter. He holds four US patents in the field of Digital Telecommunications. In May 2008, he took up the position of Assistant Professor in the Department of Informatics and Communications of the Technological Educational Institute of Serres. From May 2019 till May 2024, he worked as a Reader in the Department of Information, Computer, and Telecommunications Engineering in the International Hellenic University (IHU), Serres, Greece. In May 2024 he was granted the rank of Professor.

       Dr. Anastasios C. Politis is an Associate Professor at the Dept. of Information, Computer & Telecommunications Engineering of the International Hellenic University, Serres, Greece. He received his BEng in Electronic and Electrical Engineering from the University of Surrey, UK, in 1997 with Honors. He then continued his studies at the University of Patras, Greece, at the Dept. of Electrical Engineering and Computer Technology from where he graduated in 1999. He completed his postgraduate studies in 2001 by receiving his MSc in Integrated Hardware and Software Systems from the Dept. of Computer Engineering and Informatics at the same University. His postgraduate Thesis focused on improving TCP's performance over wireless links, and was completed in association with the telecommunications company Intracom S.A. In 2011, he received his PhD from the Dept. of Applied Informatics at the University of Macedonia, Thessaloniki, Greece. His Thesis focused on efficient multimedia transmission over wireless local area networks.

He has been the Scientific Coordinator of several research projects supported by the Research and Educational Committee of the University, in the field of protocol enhancements for wireless networks and wireless fraud detection.

He is the author and co-author of one book in the area of computer networking, and has published more than 25 research papers in scientific journals and international conference proceedings. He also serves as a member of the editorial board and TPCs in scientific journals and conferences.

He organised and administrates the local Cisco Networking Academy at the Dept. of Information, Computer & Telecommunications Engineering of the International Hellenic University.

He holds professional certifications from Cisco (CCENT/CCNA), the Fiber Optics Association (FOA) and Konnex Association (KNX).

He is a Senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE) and a member of FITCE (Federation of Telecommunications Engineers of the European Community).

His research interests include wireless communication protocols, QoS provisioning in wireless local area networks and protocol engineering.

			Dimitra Ketzaki was born in Ptolemaida, Greece, in 1984. She received her Diploma and PhD degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, 
			Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece in 2009 and 2015, respectively. During her PhD studies Dr. Ketzaki was awarded with the Excellence Grant for 
			PhD students by Research Committee of AUTH (2013-2014). In 2015, Dr. Ketzaki received an individual Postdoctoral fellowship from the Research Committee of 
			AUTH in the topic of «Numerical simulation analysis of plasmonic components». Since 2016 she works as a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Center of Interdisciplinary 
			Research and Innovation of AUTH in the area of plasmonics, photonics and optical systems design and computational analysis participating in numerous European and 
			National research programs. Her research interests include the numerical electromagnetic analysis and design of photonic and plasmonic structures leading to a plethora 
			of publications in peer-reviewed journals and conferences with numerous citations. Since 2020 she serves as Adjunct Lecturer for undergraduate and master courses at the 
			Department of Computer, Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering and the Department of Physics of International Hellenic University and at the Department of 
			Electrical and Computer Engineering of University of Western Macedonia. Moreover, she is co-inventor of a patent entitled “Method for manufacturing an integrated 
			plasmo-photonic biosensor”, whereas she is Reviewer in 6 scientific journals.

		<p>Dr Apostolos Georgiadis completed his studies at the Department of Computer Engineering &amp; Informatics, University of Patras, Greece, in 1995 with honors (87%). He then completed a six- month research contract with the Group of Machine Imaging and Intelligence (MI2) at the Univer- sity of Leuven, Belgium, funded by the Greek State Scholarships Institute. He then continued with his doctoral research studies at the University of Edinburgh, UK, with the Department of Elec- tronics and Electrical Engineering – Signals and Systems Group, where he studied the problem of non-linear equalisation of telecommunication channel in impulsive noise environments. He received the PhD diploma in 2001.</p><p>From 2000 until 2002 he worked as a Research Associate at first and then as a Research Fellow with the Signals and Systems Group, University of Edinburgh, UK. During this period he did post doctoral research, funded by a 1.3 million pounds contract with “LG Electronics Inc”, on advanced design techniques for 3G base-station receivers with interference cancellation. He also investigated the problem of minimum bit-error ratio equalisers in alpha-stable impulsive noise environments.</p><p>Since 2002 he works as a Lecturer at the Department of Telecommunications &amp; Informatics, Technical University of Serres, Greece. In 2004 he won a 12-month post-doctoral scholarship from the Greek State Scholarships Institute, in order to investigate advanced channel optimisation tech- niques for 3G receivers. He also did research on Software Defined Radio, and recently he produced some very interesting new research results on the problem of sea bottom classification using two dimensional wavelet coefficient statistics.</p><p>Dr Georgiadis has also been active in the area of professional Software Development, being the Chief Technical Officer and Head of the Research &amp; Development Department at “Megasoft Informatics”, a high-tech software development company. Dr Georgiadis has a long record of exper- ience in the design and development of commercial and scientific software, with a sound back- ground on all edge technologies and platforms (Windows, Unix/Linux, OSX, Windows Mobile, iOS, Android, Java ME, HTML, PHP, ASP.NET etc). He is the author of tens of desktop, web and mobile applications.</p><p>He has authored and co-authored numerous scientific papers, in scientific journals and peer-re- viewed conferences.</p><p>He is a member of the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET, former IEE).</p>
