id="GUID-BEA9A864-9493-4A3D-951A-AC5742F9AB27">Provisioning files provide an easy way to deploy enterprise single-use licenses in an enterprise environment by prepopulating user and authorization information in the <span class="uicontrol">Software Authorization Wizard</span>. This topic provides instructions on creating and using provisioning files to authorize licenses on both the license manager and end-user machines to authorize licenses from an in-house license manager. Provisioning files do not support the authorization of ArcGIS Pro or Premium App named user licenses for use via an on-premises Portal for ArcGIS; please see the <a class="xref" href="007900000031000000.htm" rel="007900000031000000.htm">Configure License Manager for use with Portal for ArcGIS</a> topic for details on authorizing and configuring ArcGIS Pro and Premium App named user licenses.</p><div class="section1" id="GUID-84548300-EDB1-49FB-9E69-60F14C891295" purpose="section1"><h2> Creating a provisioning file for the license manager </h2><p id="GUID-F37CBC24-F277-403D-9F1D-97CF3B7C5807"><ol purpose="ol" id="OL_00E25F52E85740FBBA5E3C1577660946"><li purpose="li" id="LI_D994B2CDA26A4759B2FF89904207182B">If you have not received a provisioning file from Esri Customer Service, you can create one using the template below. Open a text editor such as Notepad and enter the following information based on the features you need to authorize. In the example below, 10 enterprise single-use (EEA) licenses of all core <span purpose="ph" varid="ArcGISforDesktop">ArcGIS Desktop</span> products (<span purpose="ph" varid="Advanced">Desktop Advanced</span>, <span purpose="ph" varid="Standard">Desktop Standard</span>, and <span purpose="ph" varid="Basic">Desktop Basic</span>) are being authorized along with all the main extensions and a few other extensions. To authorize end-user machines (running <span purpose="ph" varid="ArcGISforDesktop">ArcGIS Desktop</span> or ArcGIS Engine), save the provisioning file as a *.prvc file.</p></div></div><div class="section2" id="ESRI_SECTION2_91275A23A04243B49607CD68FEDC9178" purpose="section2"><h3>Using a provisioning file</h3><div class="section3" id="ESRI_SECTION3_892F5AEEE903469D8CD1784EEF201C42" purpose="section3"><h4>Through Software Authorization Wizard</h4><p id="GUID-82A27E2D-1EA5-492B-8D41-FE2721CACF40"><ol purpose="ol" id="OL_7BD7051DB9084713845B2AFB1726C5DE"><li purpose="li" id="LI_EBE648A1C69346928960B2AAFA04AC12">On the end-user machine, from the <span class="uicontrol">ArcGIS Administrator Wizard</span> (which appears after product installation), choose the appropriate single-use product and click <span class="uicontrol">Authorize Now</span>.</li><li purpose="li" id="LI_AD43BAA5318A480F8B92E8E16FF0263E">Choose the option <span class="uicontrol">I have received an authorization file from Esri and am now ready to finish the authorization process</span>.</li><li purpose="li" id="LI_391EC0FD574049F9A5F6E041421E7403">Browse to the saved *.prvc file created above.</li><li purpose="li" id="LI_31432A0DA0BD4357B1CDB01E40D69058">Choose <span class="uicontrol">Authorize your software from a local license server</span> (only applicable if the local Enterprise license server is not defined in the provisioning file).</li><li purpose="li" id="LI_943C862C524E4E79BE35F9D41A28ADB3">Review the information entered in the dialog boxes and complete the authorization process.</li></ol></p></div><div class="section3" id="ESRI_SECTION3_E19CD8661715440BB9372657E757AECC" purpose="section3"><h4>Silently</h4><p id="GUID-BD95C944-13FE-4E81-8B9E-DDC482CA9544"><ol purpose="ol" id="OL_419EA57A1CAC4163AE90A21D9B486D51"><li purpose="li" id="LI_C64D0502762E46EEA484EC37A892843A">On the end-user machine, after installation of the ArcGIS software is complete, open a command prompt window.
