<p>The Text field stores textual data in the database. It can either be a simple textfield to hold up to 255 characters, or a textarea of an unlimited size that can be combined with input filters to store lengthy descriptions and HTML code.</p> <p>The Text field provides a place for the administrator to create a list of 'Allowed values' for the field. When used with <a href="&topic:optionwidgets/optionwidgets&">Optionwidgets</a>, the allowed values are presented to the end user in a drop-down select list, checkboxes, or radios.</p>
